DON’T FALL, JUMP BY CHASE BUTTERY

DON’T FALL, JUMP BY CHASE BUTTERY

You know you are going to hit the rocks at the bottom of a steep cliff.  There is nothing you can change about this inevitable fact.  The only thing you can change is the way you go about reaching your imminent death.  Depending on how you reach the bottom can change your entire experience.   Falling down could be very scary.  You might feel hopeless, sad, or regretful, crying the entire way down.  You might instead fall as a result of someone else finally pushing you.  You may then feel angry or betrayed.  As you fell you would be cursing their name.  But choosing to jump, you might instead have the thrill of your life.  You could be floating through the air excited and empowered.  You may even yell and cheer.  Possibly even throw up a finger to the friends and family that told you not to do it.  I believe this situation applies to us all and we can either fall, get pushed, or jump into life.

It is easy to lose track of our values and dreams.  So many of us get caught up in what everyone else is doing.  We begin to change our values and dreams to fit the mold of what is popular.  Then we attain these accomplishments only to come to find that they offer no meaning.  This is what falling is about.  To fall is to have no control.  It is to let life happen to you.  Falling is an accident, but jumping is a choice.  Those that change the world choose to jump, not fall.  They hear their inner voice telling them to follow the crowd and start to run the other way.  Jumpers understand their values and aspirations.  They choose to chase their dreams regardless of the odds.  They do not allow others to influence their decisions.  They would choose to jump simply so no one else could push them off.  No one can stop the jumpers for they refuse money.  Material items do not affect their decision making.  They go by a different currency.  Therefore I choose to jump into life (and throw up a kind gesture to those who want to stop me).
