CREATIVITY STRESSES ME OUT BY ANNIE MIR

CREATIVITY STRESSES ME OUT BY ANNIE MIR

Coming into this class I knew that thinking analytically always came easier to me than having a creative mindset. I like when things are structured. I don’t like that there isn’t a right answer with creativity…or that there is more than one right answer. I overthink things. I’m indecisive. Ambiguity stresses me out. And honestly, this stress is what kills my creativity.

What helps me is looking at others work. I have realized that is where I get my creative inspiration from: Looking at others work and changing it, or improving it. At first, I didn’t think that was okay. I thought that was copying. I thought creativity meant great ideas just coming to you with little to no effort… Being able to sit down and come up with a list of 10 great ideas. But I’ve realized that creativity is about change.. And it is about improvement. It’s seeing the way something already is, and allowing yourself to find ways that it can become better.

I think creativity is hard work. But, creativity does allow the opportunity to change an idea and continuously improve…And that makes me a little less stressed out.
