CHANGING THE CREATIVE STEREOTYPES BY EMMA HEISE

CHANGING THE CREATIVE STEREOTYPES BY EMMA HEISE

I am an organized, adventurer.

Most people don’t understand how I can be both. How I can love new experiences, have a passion for creativity and free-spiritedness, but also have one of the most organized calendars known to man.

Creativity doesn’t need to have a stereotype. It flows within all of us, even those who can’t necessarily find it the first time they look. I don’t look like a “creative”. I don’t fit one single part of the stereotypical “creative”. I don’t look artsy or have the most out-there thoughts every second of every day. I don’t wear outfits that no one else can pull off, and all I can do is draw stick figures.

But as I look around every room, I see that we come in many forms. Some of us don’t care about what we wear, so that we can focus on bigger and better things. Some of us approach every single problem from a never before seen point of view. And some of us, like me, like to organize and plan for each minute that we spend.

The most exhilarating part about life is that we are all united on one front, creativity.
