AGING LIKE FINE WINE BY HANNAH STRAUB

AGING LIKE FINE WINE BY HANNAH STRAUB

I turned 22 this past Sunday. The more I think about growing older, the more I think about how my creative growth is a lot like a fine wine.

After all, growth comes in time. The discovery of our own potential, the path of learning to master our energy in the face of limitation, gaining greater balance, and deeper knowledge along the way.

Age is just the filter, providing time to make mistakes and seek balance. What we end up doing in this time and what we produce takes on greater meaning and value the more time we give ourselves to fail.

Just like wine is made and evolves so do we create our own unique taste and end up leaving the grapevine.

I’m starting to view aging as a good thing. Growing up is wonderful. Just as a bottle of wine gets richer with age, so do I with more experience and adventures that come along.

As we grow older, let’s embrace the wrinkles, the passing moments, and the endless glasses of wine as if they’re solid stepping stones to even more creative discovery.

Cheers to that.
