DON'T CALL ME CREATIVE BY MARCUS SCHILLER

Jumping over the catcher wasn’t the initial plan.

Innovation has been central in my life for as long as I can remember, yet I hate being called an entrepreneur – I always have. Despite whether they apply or not, the term ‘entrepreneur’ carries assumptions and connotations which I refuse to blindly associate with my identity. I am an innovator, not an entrepreneur. I hate being labeled ‘creative’ for the same reason.

Leveraging adversity, maintaining GRIT, seeking opportunities in the face of failure, recognizing when to pivot, aligning my values with my actions; these are the commitments and learned attributes which identify who I am, fueling the way I think.

Oh, and I was safe.
