EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON BY OLIVIA SULLIVAN

Creativity is something that everyone has within them but most do not know how to manage or express it. It hides deeper and deeper within us as we age, buried under judgment, doubt, and conformity. You do, however, have the opportunity to get rid of the weight that is holding you back from being your most creative self every day. The question is, what is holding you back?

I believe that the largest contributor to a lack of creative expression stems from people being unable to reflect on and appreciate failure. If you take the time to look back on your life and recall all of the times you have failed or struggled or cried or felt broken in some way, you will see that each of those negative moments has given you something positive in return. Whether that is a lesson or a story or strength with yourself, you are better because of it. Keeping these thoughts in mind, I live a life without an ounce of regret. There is not a single moment that I would change or alter because each of those moments has led me to where I am today.

I hope that at some point in life, everyone has these realizations and is able to love their failures as much as they love their successes. You cannot truly celebrate your victories without understanding what it’s like to lose.
