COVID CONFINING CREATIVITY BY CAROLINE DUNN

COVID CONFINING CREATIVITY BY CAROLINE DUNN

As we all know, COVID has placed us under many restrictions. We have been confined to a box of rules that goes beyond any creative person’s nature. Restrictions and barriers prevent us from growing. However, I have seen this as an opportunity in my life to take action. As the Alpha Chi Omega social chair, I have been taxed with planning social events while also working around COVID’s policies. I have been forced to be the most creative in my life in a leadership position thus far by doing everything differently than the past. I have had to brainstorm and come up with party themes. I have worked out capacity math and group rotations so that everyone can be in attendance. I have created a budget when I was originally told it would be $0. The bottom line is that this pandemic has been a time in which it’s easy to sit back and let ourselves be confined. However, I have learned that there is always something to be done if we use our brains and take action.  Creativity has allowed me to step outside of the box to have a successful and fun semester.
