AUTHENTICITY: THE FIRST STEP TO CREATIVITY BY JOHN RICK

AUTHENTICITY: THE FIRST STEP TO CREATIVITY BY JOHN RICK

True creativity comes when you are authentic or act as your true self without regard to what people think of you. When you are comfortable with showing your true self around anyone, creativity and energy will flow out of everything you do. I have had my most creative moments when I am with my friends because I feel comfortable being authentic around them. If you are wondering about the picture, my friends and I decided to make an album cover after we dyed our hair black because we thought we looked like a screamo band. However, I struggle to be the person that would make an album cover and spontaneously dye my hair around my peers. I am a completely different person with my friends than with my peers. When I am with my friends, I am the true, uncensored version of myself, and creativity is flowing out of me. But when I am with others, I rarely show my true self and censor certain parts of myself. Creativity will come so much easier if you can disregard what people think of you and act authentically. It will just come naturally to you. Challenge yourself to act as you would with your friends around everyone. Ease into it and eventually, you can truly act authentically all the time.
