EVERYDAY INNOVATOR BY KYLE ROOT

For me, entrepreneurship is a spark. It hits me at the strangest of times and often the most inconvenient of times. When I try to sleep, get something done, or pay attention in lecture, I end up getting new ideas for improving assignments or my life. The biggest part of entrepreneurship is finding something lacking and addressing it. This week has been one of my most creative weeks and I didn’t even have to focus on ESP 252. It happened naturally. I was about to finish taking a nap when an idea for my portfolio design burst into my head, initiating a brainstorm session and white hat activity. In class, I came to the realization that many of the traits I value the most are not my strongest because of how low they scored in LPI’s. Both of these instances were entrepreneurial because I thought of something, physical or conceptual, and made it the center of my mindset. Entrepreneurship is not just about innovating products and ideas, it can also be about innovating how you view yourself.
