India is famous for a peculiar style of innovation, known as ‘Jugaad’. The term translates to improvisation or hack. The concept of Jugaad stems from uncertainty in finding the right resources or funding at the right time, and is characterized by the use of ridiculous, but practical solutions to everyday problems. Just Google “Jugaad innovation” and look at the images that pop up.

Jugaad is about making seemingly random connections, and unless you’re a stranger to creativity, you already know that making connections is a big part of it. Whether it be using a coat hanger as a door-stopper or using the heat dissipated from a light bulb to warm up your dipping sauce, Jugaad is a fun way to incorporate the implementation aspect of creativity and make life simpler, while saving money.

So what all are you going to Jugaad?
