VIEWS I LOVE, VIEWS I MISS BY EMILY PURE

VIEWS I LOVE, VIEWS I MISS BY EMILY PURE

...and views that I have forgotten over the years. The ones that seem to have gotten away. The fleeting moments that go undocumented and really shape who I am as a person.

In my time of being a Junior in college, two girls I knew in high school were diagnosed with cancer. Even though I do not personally know them, their courage and stories have hit me hard. They have taught me a lot about life as well.

I was outside on a warm, sunny September day and had this moment of serenity and peace. I paused everything and closed my eyes to take in the sharp sunrays, the soft breeze on my face and the friends that I had around me. I thought to myself, never again will I be able to live in this moment. Take the time to appreciate these moments, they pass all too quickly.

Don’t stress the little things in life. That exam you have next week, cleaning the dishes, and calling your mom may seem like petty tasks but when looking at the big picture of life, they are truly magical moments. We are lucky enough to have such a great education, so that exam is truly a blessing!

So I encourage you to take it all in. Step back and appreciate that you can experience these things because they happen in an instant. Life is very precious, so be grateful for your health, and the opportunities that are given to you because not everyone is lucky enough to have that same experience. Live your life so if you woke up tomorrow, and did not have the same health, you can look back and see how much life you have lived. How many moments you created and appreciated.

Be curious, full of life, and love those around you; you’ll look back and be grateful you did.
